How to choose the Best 55-inch LED TV
This short buying guide will see some useful tips on choosing the best 55-inch LED TV. If you have just furnished your new living room and want to fill it with a flamboyant new 55” TV panel or are planning to enjoy your TV on a much larger than usual 20” screen, today we will see which parameters to keep in mind during our research without running into unpleasant misunderstandings!
The resolution, viewing distance, and environmental context
Generally, it is good to keep certain proportions between the TV’s size (inches), distance from the observation point, and resolution. Clearly, the camera’s size will also affect the yield, but we must primarily consider the distance from the observation point to the monitor.
If you are oriented towards a 55-inch and plan to position yourself at a distance of about three or four meters to watch your favorite TV programs, you will have to orient yourself towards a Full HD resolution of 1,920×1,080 pixels.
If, on the other hand, your room is smaller, and you will watch TV from a distance of about two meters (or even a little less, let’s say 150 cm), you will have to turn to a more advanced model. That is to a 4K, with a higher resolution of 3,840×2,160 pixels; also called Ultra HD.
The other features to consider, pay attention to the LED backlight, do not hesitate to take home a model equipped with LED technology. Considering the size of a 55-inch, consumption will certainly be considerable.
LED technology will allow you to amortize a good percentage. In the case of LED, I prefer the architecture called EdgeLit. It differs from BackLit in that the former diffuses a backlight starting from the edges of the panel, favoring a superior image rendering in terms of brightness and contrast.
If you have the possibility, opt for a curved panel. The idea behind this shape is to guarantee a 100% equidistant viewing angle (which does not happen with the sides of flat screens). What if you actually have an increase in the visual experience? Try it yourself with your own eyes!
